The image and the object are mundane. Counteractively, process has become glorified to document rituals. What occurs in the middle and what is lost consists of gaps and tolerances of informational translations. These translations exist in an intangible means of mechanized code.
This intersection seeks to reassess digital control and analog output. The current oversaturation of information has led to flattened projections veiled with worries of the environment siloing potential foundations of “tools”.
The trajectories of tools in the current manifestation of digital codes are insufficient in the schemes of material identity. While matter obeys the line, it still holds its own inscription within addition/subtraction and conceptual phonetics. Every line is already an argument with gravity, moisture, tool-radius, and time. The task is to read and draw the phonetics, the counterforces, letting them script before form is fixed.
From instructions to materiality, this thesis turns the architectural image into a stereotomic test cell for translation: a place where signals are folded into code, code seeps into strata, and strata answers back. Every cut anticipates its own echo, every pour overwrites the line that summoned it, and the mis-tolerance allows for us to redraw material.
