Timeless Courtyards
The project envisions a multigenerational co-living community in Altadena, Los Angeles, rethinking possibilities for aging in place. It fosters active intergenerational interaction through shared spaces, collaborative activities, and the exchange of knowledge—dissolving social barriers and minimizing isolation, so that residents of all ages find belonging and purpose.
The design features interconnected tiered courtyards and open, park-like landscapes, supported by diverse community programs that naturally link different generations. An artificial stream purifies household greywater through ecological treatment, reusing it for irrigation and landscaping to create a self-sustaining water cycle. Seamlessly integrated with nearby schools and commercial areas, the neighborhood offers a framework for long-term, cross-generational living, connection, and growth.
More than housing, Timeless Courtyards is a living model of care, vitality, and dignified aging—where people live, connect, and thrive together
